Zoya Artisanal Rugs

Zollanvari & Zoya

For some families, rugs are part of the home. For the Zollanvari family , they are part of the family story, woven through generations, shaping not only what they do, but who they are.

For over a century, the Zollanvari name has been closely tied to the world of extraordinary rugs. It is a legacy shaped by Persian heritage, nomadic craftsmanship, cultural preservation and an enduring commitment to the art of weaving.

Internationally respected for their pioneering collections and modern interpretation of Persian floor art, the family has long occupied a distinctive place within the global rug world.

For Pedro, this was never an industry discovered later in life, but one inherited. Rugs their history, construction, artistry, provenance, and cultural significance formed part of the landscape he grew up within.

It is a language spoken across the generations and continents, within a close family where conversations around rugs, craftsmanship, design, and possibility have always formed part of daily life. New ideas are always supported and encouraged, so creating Zoya was not a departure from that world, but a natural continuation of it.

Founded by Pedro and his wife Leah, Zoya grew from this shared world of rugs and craftsmanship, shaped by generations of knowledge and experience. It reflects a contemporary perspective , one grounded in traditional craft, but expressed through a modern and bespoke design lens.

In Cape Town, these two worlds meet under one roof. Zollanvari and Zoya share both showroom and team, offering a rare dialogue between heritage and contemporary design between collectible, colourful Persian masterpieces and a quieter, more tailored approach to modern rug making.
